Prawn Dumplings

Last year I was given 2 x Red Balloon vouchers for a cooking school experience as a going away gift. And a few weeks ago, I finally went & it was amazing! I'd like to share with you one of the easy recipes I learned in the class. Don't worry - I will post more soon.

Ingredients

  • 500g Green Prawns
  • 1 sml tin of Bamboo Shoots
  • 2 tablespoons of Green Onions or Chives
  • 2 teaspoons of Cornflour
  • 2 teaspoons of Sesame Oil
  • 24 Gow Gee Wrappers

Method

  1. Chop prawns & bamboo shoots up finely & combine until they resemble a chunky mixture.
  2. Add green onions/chives & oil into mixture & combine it all together.
  3. Place 1 teaspoon of the mixture in the centre of a wrapper. Fold to the desired shape & use water to seal the dumpling.
  4. Steam dumpling in a paper-lined bamboo basket for approximately 10 minutes.
  5. Serve with light soy sauce or any dipping sauce you like!
