Design Talk: Resources - Creative Market

In this blog I am going to let you in on a few massive secrets of mine. So here is my first confession;

I SUCK at drawing.

And when I say I suck - I am not being modest. Whenever I try to free draw something, it looks worse than something a toddler would draw [insert sad face]. I really wish I could draw & I have serious envy of people who can. On a daily basis I see amazing illustrations on Instagram/Pinterest & I'm in awe. But alas, I have come to the sad conclusion that this is something I will never be able to master.

Although in the Graphic Design industry, it isn't mandatory to be able to illustrate - so I got lucky there :) And luckily I am skillful with the Pen tool in the Adobe Creative Suite programs. Knowing that hand drawn elements are a limitation of mine, I had to find a resource where I can access these elements for my future work. Upon doing so, I discovered Creative Market.

And Creative Market do just that! The content they have on their website is so useful & seemingly never ending. They have everything from fonts, illustrations to product mockups.

Which brings me to my second confession;

I am a major tight a**. If I can get something for free - I am all over it!

And Creative Market deliver just that. Every week (Tuesdays for those in Australia) they release 6 new free goods for people to download. The range of goodies they offer changes from week to week. My favourite items they release are the fonts & the product mockups.
